In Sanskrit, “Annaprashan” means ‘Grain Initiation’. Plan your baby’s first bite by performing puja according to Annaparashan Muhurat 2016, planned under the most favorable stars. Bhaiyaji wishes to all new born babes especially girl child , “let heaven shower the blessings on your child with good health , education ,and longevity”.
In our country Bharat ,the Annaprashan Muhurat has different names like, ‘Annapraasanam’ in Tamil , ‘Bhaatkhulai’ in Garhwal hills, ‘Choroonu’ in Kerala, and ‘Mukhe Bhatt’ in Bengal’ and so on. This ceremony is very popular in Hindu Culture, It blesses child with good health and prosperity in life.

Annaprashan Muhurat 2016 list, has the most auspicious sanskar dates on which your baby has first bite of solid food mostly Honey , Rice. It is celebrated before the first birthday of a baby, after this you can start weaning your child’s diet.
Important points while performing Annaprashan Sanskar Ceremony 2016:
- Annaprashan Sanskar Ceremony, is celebrated anytime after six months or before first birthday of a child.
- For boy’s it is generally performed in the sixth or eighth month (In even months).
- For girl’s it is generally performed in the fifth or seventh month (In odd months)
Moreover, it is always celebrated at homes and at temples by calling priests.
Before performing “Annaprashan Sanskar Ceremony”, a bath is given to baby, then he/she gets dressed in new clothes or in traditional outfit. Later, the puja starts and baby has his/her first bite in the form of prasad or food, followed by all the rituals.
The religious ceremony is often followed by a fun game where a number of symbolic objects are placed on a banana leaf or silver tray which your baby can then pick up. The objects include:
- books symbolizing learning
- jewels symbolizing wealth
- a pen symbolizing wisdom
- clay symbolizing property
- food items symbolizing a love for food
Family and friends have a great time cheering the little one while he makes his choice. It is believed that the object your baby picks up from the tray represents his area of interest in future.
